Governor Orders Full Distance Learning

Student with device

On Friday, July 17th, Governor Gavin Newsom ordered all school districts in counties that are on the State COVID–19 watch list to not return in person, but instead, open the school year with full distance learning. Merced City School District students in grades TK–8 will begin as scheduled on August 12th with full distance learning. More information will come, regarding our YEP and Preschool programs.

I want to commend all of the hard work our team has invested to prepare for reopening and reassure our community that we are fully prepared to provide a rigorous and equitable learning experience for our students. Through our collective efforts to “flatten the curve” of COVID–19, we will return to school in person when it is safe for all. If you have any questions, call my office at 209-385-6640.

Thank you,

Al Rogers, Ed.D.
Superintendent
