Curb-side grab and go meals (breakfast and lunch) will resume on August 12th during either time of 7:00-8:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. every school day, at your child’s school of attendance.
Parents will need to provide their student’s name and ID number when picking up meals. Your child does not need to be present.
Breakfast is free to all students. Lunch is free to all eligible students.

In a special meeting of the Merced City School District Board of Education on July 22nd, Trustees appointed Mr. Tsia Xiong to fill the Area 2 Provisional Board Member seat.
Trustee Xiong is a parent of MCSD students. He is actively involved in various community organizations and volunteers on a number of MCSD committees. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from CSU, Sacramento.
Xiong was one of four candidates who interviewed for the position, three of which participated via Zoom, and one participated in person at the STEAM Center. Mr. Xiong was sworn in by Superintendent, Dr. Al Rogers. The public was able to watch the entire meeting live on the District Youtube channel. All participants were required to wear masks and sit 6 feet apart.
The Area 2 seat will be open again during the November 2020 election. Trustee Xiong will have the opportunity to run for the position, along with anyone else who qualifies.
Reminder: School starts August 12th with full distance learning as directed by the Governor.
Although circumstances have changed, MCSD still needs your decision about parent choice for future planning purposes. Please let us know whether you would prefer to send your child to school in person with safety protocols in place or have them continue to participate in online distance learning exclusively once schools are allowed to reopen.

July 24th was the original deadline to complete the parent choice questionnaire, but under the current circumstance we have extended the deadline to July 31st. Thank you for your participation.

On Friday, July 17th, Governor Gavin Newsom ordered all school districts in counties that are on the State COVID–19 watch list to open the school year with full distance learning.
This is also true for the MCSD Preschool Program and Youth Enrichment Program (YEP).
These programs will not open as planned for in-person instruction or care.
Students and families will be provided a variety of opportunities to receive engaging distance learning activities and frequent communication from teachers and staff.
The MCSD Preschool Program and YEP Program will return to in-person instruction and care when it is safe for all.
