Morning with Mom
Fremont Elementary School is celebrating moms.
310 mothers and community members took part in the first ever Morning with Mom event on campus Friday, January 31.
Many mothers were able to see what their child's day is like while they are at school.
"You get that quality time with them outside of your home," Marilu Valencia said while visiting with her child.
They interacted with students and helped them with an arts and crafts project.
"These students are going to leave today and remember this event forever so that makes it a pretty special day for us, " Principal Dawn Hubble said.
"It sends a very strong message to the kids, our students, and it's just all the encouragement that they need and help them be supported in their education and so it's just, it's wonderful to see," MCSD Board Member and mother of three Fremont students said.
California Highway Patrol officers also attended, to "Kind of give them a good role model and that way the kids kind of see you know, that the law enforcement community is basically out here to support them," Officer Eric Zuniga said.
In October, Fremont's staff organized a similar event, aimed at including dad's and other male role models, called Eat and Run with Dad.
